Male Fertility & Family Planning

Male fertility is a complex interplay of hormonal pathways, testicular function, genetic factors, lifestyle, and environmental influences.

Male fertility is a complex interplay of hormonal pathways, testicular function, genetic factors, lifestyle, and environmental influences. Approximately half of all cases of involuntary childlessness involve at least a contributing male factor.

The IMA takes a structured and comprehensive approach to fertility assessment. In addition to semen analysis, hormonal parameters, physical findings, pre-existing conditions, medications, and lifestyle factors are taken into account. The aim is to identify treatable causes and provide realistic perspectives.

Particular attention is given to hormonal disorders that may impair spermatogenesis, such as hypogonadism, hyperprolactinemia, or thyroid disorders. Obesity, stress, and inflammatory processes can also play an important role.

Treatment is tailored to the individual findings and the desired timeframe for conception. It may include lifestyle interventions, targeted hormonal therapies, or preparation for assisted reproductive procedures. Close coordination with reproductive medicine centers is important (button, see below).

Integrative andrology means considering fertility not in isolation, but as part of overall male health and, importantly, couple health.
